Wedding Spotlight

On July 17, 2009, Earl and Mary Rolan from Rome, Georgia hosted their son’s rehearsal dinner at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Approximately 120 guests attended this celebration. Clements Catering started the night off offering cocktails and buffet style appetizers of Hot Browns and Benedictine on Toast Points topped with Smoked Bacon.

The room was lavishly set with white table linens complemented by apple green napkins. The room was filled with candlelight that glistened around the floral arrangements of green and pink Hydrangeas with Pink Dogwood accents.

Once the bride and groom arrived, everyone was called into the Great Hall for dinner by the sound of the “Call to the Post” played by Churchill Downs’ bugler Steve Buttlemen. He then played “My Old Kentucky Home” as everyone stood to his or her feet. The guests then enjoyed a scrumptious meal that included Kentucky Bibb Salad with Dried Cranberries, Candied Pecans, Goat Cheese and Honey Bourbon Vinaigrette, Cajun Rubbed Prime Rib, Bourbon Barbecue Grilled Chicken, Herb and Garlic Red Potatoes, Chef’s Choice Seasonal Grilled Marinated Vegetables, Kentucky Nut Pie and Peach Cobbler.

During dessert, the guests enjoyed a slide presentation that reminisced about the bride and groom’s childhoods. What a memorable evening.
